This tube is available in Standard/Long range and short range. The difference between the Patternmaster Standard/Long Range and short range is the length. Patternmaster concept is that the "studs" inside the choke grabs the base of the wad as it passes through while the front of the wad is flush with the front of the tube. This is when we get our tightest, densest pattern. The same concept is true in reverse for the short range tubes. The pattern may be too tight with the standard/long range tube so we have trimmed the choke back toward the "stud" ring to allow for the wad to extend past the end of the tube. This will open the pattern and reduce the impact. This tube fits the Ruger Red Label shotgun or Ruger SC style threads.
