My name is Darren Shipp and I was first introduced to the outdoors at the young age of 7 trapping on the trapline with my dad. Since that first exposure, I just can't get enough of the outdoors. Soon after trapping, I was introduced to waterfowl hunting as well as bow hunting. I'm a proud traditional bowhunter and waterfowler. I haven't missed a bow hunting or waterfowl season since I was 12 years old. I make my living in the outdoor industry as a taxidermist and guide/outfitter. I've been a professional guide for big game and waterfowl for over 20 years in Canada and my experiences have taken me throughout North America. I reside in Lorette, Manitoba with my wife, our 2 daughters, and our 2 labrador retrievers where I own and run Wild North Taxidermy and my outfitting business Wild North Waterfowlers. My favourite waterfowl to hunt is open water divers. From mid October until the lakes and rivers are frozen, that's what I'll be doing. But I also make sure to save some time for bowhunting whitetails. My hobbies include training my labradors for waterfowl retrieving and field trials. I'm also a proud member of Manitoba Gun Dog Association.
